You are invited to take part in a mail-art action 

to save the nesting area of black-headed gull (larus ridibundus)

and 14 other species of water-fowl on Krievu Island, Riga, Latvia.

 

Your collaboration will help the Riga inhabitants 

to save the micro-restricted area in the outskirts of city, nearby Bolderâja
where, last spring, orinthologists observed 1500 couples of black-headed gulls.

Only 20 nesting couples of birds are necessary to
form a restricted area.

 

Help us to stop the plan to destroy the area so it can be used to create a
charcoal terminal.

City Authorities wish to make money at the expense of these beautiful birds and
the environment they share with local people.

Let us not allow this to happen!
